You've really taken to the acrylics with this one, she really just pops right out, I love the clarity in soft tones, you just don't get that with water colours. Beautiful.
Thanks! My Next move is to maybe try some kind of masonite, wood or board. The texture of the canvas kinda makes me mental when trying to really do clean lines.
Yup I hate to work on canvas, but I do like some texture which is why I like working on wood. Try getting a lid from a jar and mixing paint with a lot of water, this helps with the cleaner lines and the water slows the drying time. I've started experimenting with acrylic mediums but water is the best thing for paint flow I've found!
I actually use a wet pallet, the kid with the sponge that keep the paint from drying too quickly. I find it helps! I think I need to build up my base layers a little more, or possibly even an extra layer of gesso? Anyhoo I love painting with acrylics. For me its been about the challenge of getting away from that light table and seeing what I can do without that pre inked line work!
